In their Technology Cultural Power in the Network Societies David Rowe and Brett Hutchins compare Stokke to American soccer players Hope Solo and Alex Morgan whom were considered fetishized. The authors further stated that the comments on social media tend to be insulting. Others women made a connection to Brandi's celebration of her sports bra when she was awarded the FIFA Women's World Cup back in 1999. The women claimed that debates on appearance overshadowed sporting moments for women. An editor from a Californian website for track and field captured photos of Stokke in New York at the beginning of 2007. The photos were published on the internet. With Leather, an online sports publication with a lot of male followers, posted comments on Stokke's attractiveness in this month in May. The article was titled Pole Vaulting: Sexy and barely legal. Matt Ufford was threatened by the photographer to take legal action if it did not remove this image. The post, however, received significant media attention and was published on several websites. Stokke's images of pole vaulting were published on a tribute site. After the images were shared on social media platforms, online fan sites gained thousands new followers. Alyce Caron..............Alyce Caron was born in Houston in the United States in February 1957. She wanted to finish her high school degree in Florida. It was her first step in her new career when she finished high school. Alyce is proud to be the sister of professor.
