Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat

Madekwe is the daughter of the mixed race family of South London in England. She has a father who is Nigerian as well as Swiss and her mother is English. She was raised on a council estate in the south of London. When she was 14she enrolled in The Brit School. She was a student at The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London in which she earned a BA in acting. While at school she appeared in a variety of stage productions like the King Henry V's Princess Katherine as well as Wuthering Heights.
Madekwe first began her acting career with Storm Damage. She has since made appearances on Teachers, Doctors Casualty and Drop Dead Gorgeous. Madekwe's first film role was Woody Allen's 2007 film Cassandra's Dream opposite Colin Farrell, Ewan McGregor. She then was the lead in Elisha, the BBC Three pilot drama, in West 10 LDN. In the same time, she starred as Ollie in six episodes each of Trexx, Flipside, and Flipside. In the ITV2 show Secret Diary of a Call Girl was her first appearance in 2008 playing Bambi. Madekwe also played the main character on How to lose friends & betray people and be apathetic, which premiered on Sony Pictures Entertainment 2008. Her stage credits are Little Sweet Thing or Roy Williams and Flight Path of David Watson.
Madekwe's US debut came in 2009, with her drama The Beautiful Life. The show aired just two episodes before it was ended on The CW. The actress was selected in February 2011 in the role of Ashley Davenport on the ABC drama Revenge. Madekwe was in the episodes of the show's second season as the show's regular. However, in May of 2013, it was announced that news broke that Madekwe will quit the show due to her guest appearance in the opening episode for its third season. Between 2014 and 2016, she starred in Salem on the CW as Tituba. Madekwe and her partner for many years, Iddo Goldenberg, were married in June 2012. They've collaborated on Secret Diary of a Call Girl, and he is also a part of the cast on the show Salem.

Ashley Leggat, an actress nominated twice for the Gemini Award, comes from a large Hamilton family. Her parents, Roy and Patty, as well as the four brothers of her, Brett, Todd, and Bram, were all present.
