Anita Sarkeesian (Canadian-American) is an activist in the field of feminist media as well as a public speaker, and Canadian. She is the founder of Feminist Frequency the site which features video and posts on the representations of women in popular culture. Anita Sarkeesian a Canadian American media critic. Feminist Frequency, a website for education that examines women's positions in the pop culture narratives was the result of her research. Additionally, she serves as the executive director. In her efforts to break down stereotypes that are associated with women in pop culture, she has also been working on issues related the targeted harassment women and different classes of individuals on the internet. Sarkeesian has a Master's degree in political and social thinking at York University. As a public speaker, she is extremely sought-after and has spoken at TEDxWomenXOXO as well as the United Nations Broadband Working Group. From an early age, Sarkeesian was fascinated with gender issues as well as feminist ideas. While still at school in 2009, she created her Feminist Frequency Website. She had a plan to start a web-based series examining gender-based representations in video games. However, she was the subject of an online harassment campaign.
